London Borough of Waltham Forest Adult and Community Services (December 2006 – March 2007)

Project Manager - Project managed a service review of LBWFs temporary housing services with emphasis on Private Sector Leasing.

Building on the successes at SLFHA, this post offered a return to research in similar depth to my university dissertations and my work at Dartford Council. I was recruited by Gareth Hall, Private Sector Housing Director to investigate the current funding and business of Private Sector Leasing and temporary housing arrangements. The study would include a comparison with similar local authorities using organisational and cost based analysis.

The 3 month contract was extended to allow for an additional 33 page consultation report to be drafted.

My tasks were to:

  • Identify a qualitative sample of Private Sector Housing senior staff

  • Identify a quantitative sample of Private Sector Housing costs

  • Research LWBF's organisation and service delivery

  • Provide comparative data to understand:

    • Cost/ efficiency in terms of service delivery

    • Comparative cost/ efficiency with similar Local Authorities

    • Identify areas of duplication of service/ service crossover

The details of this study are now available. (use the browser 'BACK' button to close)

However, the report identified potential savings that exceeded £100,000 per year!
