Southwark LBC (January – May 2005)

Principal Information Officer - Prepared for imminent Audit Commission’s Key Line of Enquiry Audit (KLOE), Evaluated and used the resulting data to rationalise existing Service Improvement Plans (SIPs).

This was initially a 3 month contract, extended for 2 months and was my first agency/ freelance post since leaving Dartford Council. I was recruited to enable the outgoing holder of the post achieve promotion and so continue and develop his work.

The Audit Commissions Key Lines of Enquiries (KLOE)'s critical evaluation and risk assessment methodologies require a systemic review. A spreadsheet had been constructed, into which Audit Commission definitions were placed. Risk assessment type scoring would be calculated, based upon Department heads and 'critical friends' entries.

My tasks were to:

  • Complete the missing KLOE elements and prepare the spreadsheets for input.

  • Book the venue

  • Arrange/ invite attendees, synchronising the diaries attending Directors.

  • Making last minute changes to event to accommodate attendee cancelations.

  • Arrange IT equipment/ network as required

  • Arrange and deliver participant instruction as to using the spreadsheet

  • Chair and facilitate the workshop meetings

  • Evaluate the data
